Heroes Home Advantage

Memorial Day Savings & Events 2016!

We always try to share with our followers any discounts and savings our Heroes can take advantage of when we come across them.  This year for Memorial Day, our gift to our nation’s veterans and active duty military men and women is the following comprehensive list of where you can take advantage of some extra savings and deals as a ‘Thank You’ for your service!

We hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day with your friends and families, but let us not forget the reason behind what Memorial Day represents!

Before we get to the savings, let’s see if you knew the following facts about Memorial Day…

  • It is traditional to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff from dawn until noon.
  • Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.
  • Memorial Day started as an event to honor Union soldiers, who had died during the American Civil War.
  • After World War I, it was extended to include all men and women, who died in any war or military action.
  • Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day.
